Yesterday I ran across three articles about mosquitoes in the Philippines.

There is a full blown malaria epidemic in one province in the Bicol region.

The Philippine Red Cross released a statement that dengue is up 40% for first six months of this year over the same period last year. I wasn't surprised as I get alerts on Dengue articles and have been watching the reports poor in over the last couple of weeks. I'm guessing the provinces are required to report to a national agency every six months. The reports I saw indicated that dengue was up in many areas.

They say all the brownouts are caused by drought and we have an increase in dengue? Something is not making sense there to me.
